The Role

Our client is seeking a high-performing, self-motivated Regional Business Development Manager, based in the Netherlands for the Benelux & DACH regions. Successful candidates will demonstrate an excellent track record of success in a Life Sciences environment. The role will require close collaboration with the CBO and Technical Head, Netherlands to develop new sales opportunities and deliver prospective clients for product development and regulatory strategy services. They believe that a successful salesperson establishes strong connections with new clients, understands, and helps define client requirements, and builds long-lasting, customer-focused relationships.

As the Regional Business Development Manager, it will be your responsibility to penetrate new target accounts, owning and hitting/exceeding annual sales targets within your assigned territory as an individual contributor. Experience and competence in selling consulting services or solutions to the Life Sciences industry is strongly preferred.

Our ideal candidate is someone with a good working knowledge of the therapeutic product development process from early development to market approval and a strong understanding of the context of how regulatory strategy informs development.

Key Objectives

  • Formulate and implement strategic initiatives to meet sales objectives and enhance the client base in alignment with sales approach.
  • Cultivate executive-level connections with new clientele, serving as the primary liaison between key clients and internal teams.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of potential clients' essential needs, obstacles, and demands, and create tailored proposals when necessary, with team support.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders on relevant planning and performance reporting needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and current client data for all prospects, target accounts, and new clients using the CRM tool.
  • Manage existing client relationships within your region and when required, act as a strong advocate among our current client base.
  • Uphold and enhance top-tier client relations and involvement.
  • Ensure revenue aligns with company objectives and targets.
  • Deliver regular updates on account progress, objectives, and forecasts to leadership.
  • Engage in negotiations for contracts/SOWs with new clients and ensure to meet set deadlines for fulfilling each client's long-term objectives.
  • Identify industry-specific landscapes and trends to incorporate differentiation into marketing materials and proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal operational team to ensure successful handover of new business/projects and client satisfaction.
  • Independently plan, execute, and oversee agreed sales programs/initiatives/events and conferences within the Benelux and DACH region under minimal supervision.
  • Allocate approximately 50% of time to routine business travel across the Benelux and DACH regions for conferences and client visits, with additional European or global travel as necessitated by the business.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years in Life Sciences, preferably Pharma/Biotech or Consulting/CRO/CDMO.
  • Bachelor's in Life Sciences/Engineering; business/marketing background a plus.
  • Proficient in English, German; French or Dutch is a bonus.
  • Skilled in building lasting client relationships, discussing various topics.
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying, managing, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Manage multiple accounts without compromising service quality.
  • Proven capability to understand client needs and provide solutions.
  • Proactive, adaptable, strong communicator with negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in budget and timeline management.
  • Experienced with MS Office, SharePoint, and CRM systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: €100.000,00 - €120.000,00 per year
